Alberts Hotel Dart League 2024 / 2025
Rules
Etiquette is an important aspect of any sport or competitive activity, including a dart league. It helps create a respectful and enjoyable environment for all participants.
Here are some rules of etiquette to follow in a dart league:
- Respect the Venue: Treat the venue and its staff with respect. Follow any specific rules or policies set by the venue, such as, smoking rules, and closing times. If you are cut off it is their license on the line. Grab a coffee and understand its not personal.
- Respect Your Opponent: Always be courteous and sportsmanlike toward your opponent, regardless of the outcome of the game. Shake hands before and after the match.
- Don't celebrate or show frustration excessively; maintain good sportsmanship throughout the game.
- Fights: Any type of violence or screaming and yelling at anyone in the venue including another player WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. You will be asked to leave and will terminate your membership all prizes and monies paid will be forfeited and put back into the prize pool for existing prizes. There will be no refunds and no exceptions.
- Hitting or throwing any dart equipment will not be tolerated and you will be asked to leave.
- No Heckling: Do not heckle or taunt your opponent. Encourage good sportsmanship and fair play. If you have a personal issue with someone leave it out of the league. If you have any issues ensure that it is to be brought to executive in a respectful manner.
- Timing: Be punctual for your matches. Being late can disrupt the schedule for the evening and inconvenience others. Smoke breaks are to be kept to a minimum, if you need to discuss something outside, we ask that you do it at the end of the night.
- Scoring Accuracy: Keep an accurate score and announce it clearly after each throw. Double-check your math to avoid disputes. Show your darts to ensure someone on the other team sees. If you are struggling feel free to ask either team for assistance.
- Accept Defeat Gracefully: If you lose a game, accept it graciously and congratulate your opponent. No one likes a sore loser.
- Equipment Care: Treat the dartboard, darts, and other equipment with care. Throwing darts in anger at anything or anyone will result in immediate suspension.
- Adhere to League Rules: Familiarize yourself with and adhere to the specific rules and regulations of your dart league. This includes rules about game formats, scoring, and any league-specific guidelines.
- Control Alcohol Consumption: Drink responsibly. Excessive drinking can lead to poor sportsmanship, disruptions and legal violations. If you are asked to leave the venue by the venue management, you are suspended from the league without reimbursement.
- Cheating, in any form, is not tolerated in dart leagues. Always play by the rules and maintain the highest level of integrity.
- Respect Spectators: If there are spectators, be mindful of their presence. Keep your behavior and language appropriate for all audiences.
- Resolve Disputes Peacefully: If a dispute arises during a game, try to resolve it calmly and respectfully. If necessary, involve a executive member at time of dispute. if it is a scoring dispute, the score counted before the darts are pulled out of the board is what is counted. If the darts are pulled without score verification, the score will be 0.
- Dealings with disputes will be dealt with, the reporting player (issue be it another person or rule) and executive. If you feel the need to complain to other players, they are there for fun then we ask you to leave the play area with the captain/organizer and come back when the issue has been dealt with.
- Complaints or dislikes: We have comment cards available, please use them. Complaining to other players or putting down league is not fun for volunteers or the players.
- Follow League Code of Conduct: Many dart leagues have a specific code of conduct that participants are expected to follow. Make sure to read and adhere to it.
- Support Your League: Show support for your league by attending meetings, participating in fundraisers, and helping with league-related activities. IF you work for or know anyone willing to sponsor our league, please forward contact information to the executive.
- Tables and chairs are to be cleaned and in place prior to leaving. Any teams not complying to this will be fined $1.00 per player. Monies collected will go to the venue staff.
Ultimately, the goal is to promote a friendly, competitive, and respectful atmosphere for all participants. We are all here for a good time and coordinators are volunteering their time to ensure everyone is able to enjoy themselves.
I agree to the Rules above and will bring any issues encountered to the Executive via in person or by Email
